Zentraler Aspekt bei der Straßentheaterproduktion „Wheels of Fire“ sind mobile, innovative Holzskulpturen die als akrobatische Requisiten dienen. In diesem Stück werden unterschiedliche Strukturen von 6 Artisten, Schauspieler und Musikern verwendet: Einen Leonardo Ring mit 3,3 m Durchmesser der eine Weiterentwicklung des Renaissancemeisters darstellt, sowie ein 2,5 m Pendelring und ein 3 m hoher Kreisel. Der Pendelring erhielt seinen Namen von der Schlangenlinie auf der er rollt und von Moses Pendelton (Gruppe Momix). Der mathematische Name dieses Objekts, das im Wesentlichen aus 2 Halbbögen besteht, ist Sphericon, erfunden von Colin Roberts im Jahr 1970. In den darauf folgenden Jahren hat dieses Objekt, dessen Schwerpunkt beim Abrollen immer auf einer Ebene bleibt, viele Bildhauer und Mathematiker beschäftigt. In Europa sind wir die erste Gruppe, die diese Struktur in einer Aufführung verwendet.

Innovative, mobile wooden structures, which serve as acrobatic props, are the central aspect of the street theatre production „Wheels of Fire“. In this performance, six acrobats, actors and musicians employ various structures: a ‚Leonardo Wheel‘ with a 3,3m diameter, which is an advancement of a sketch by the renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci, as well as a 2,5m Sphericon, and a 3m tall spinning top. The Sphericon, which basically consists of two semi-circular arches, was invented and given its mathematical term by Colin Roberts in 1970. In the years following after, this object fascinated many sculptors and mathematicians. Even when rolling, its centre of gravity remains on the same level throughout. We are the first ensemble in Europe who uses this structure in a performance.

Strutture di legno mobili e innovative, che servono come accessori acrobatici, sono l’aspetto centrale per la produzione del teatro di strada „Wheels of Fire“. In questa performance si usano strutture diverse con sei artisti, attori e musicisti: una Ruota di Leonardo con un diametro di 3,3 m, che rappresenta un ulteriore sviluppo del maestro del Rinascimento, come pure un anello pendolare di 2,5 m e una trottola alta 3 m. L’anello pendolare ha il suo nome dalla linea sinuosa, sulla quale gira, e da Moses Pendelton (gruppo Momix). Il nome matematico di questo oggetto, che in sostanza consiste di due semiarchi, è sphericon, inventato da Colin Roberts nell’anno 1970.
Negli anni seguenti questa ruota ha ispirato molti scultori e matematici. Mentre si muove, il centro di gravità non va su e giù, ma resta su un livello costante. Noi siamo il primo gruppo in Europa, che ha costruito e usa negli spettacoli uno sphericon di legno.
